Lots of folk will soon be left with pumpkins that are no longer wanted, so we just wanted to remind everyone that they should never be left out for wildlife… Plan ahead if you’re carving a pumpkin this year.

Please put it in your food waste or compost bin when you’re finished. β™» Do not leave them at any nature reserve for wildlife to eat. πŸŽƒ ❌ They’re not a natural food source to the wildlife that live in these places and can make some species, such as hedgehogs really poorly.

Not only can feeding pumpkins to birds, foxes, badgers and deer, make them unwell, it can also spread disease. Dumped pumpkins can disturb the sensitive balance of soils.
