This is Myrtle and her kittens who have been living in the BD3 area for many years.
We have been told that Myrtle has had over 6 litters previously and that others kittens have died.
Many people believed her to be feral however when we assessed her she is just nervous…. and has good reason to be.
Whilst we were there we met 3 other kittens from her previous litters, and we are going back tonight to try to rescue them before tgey start breeding.
Also poor Myrtle was being hounded by at least 2 entire Males who certainly were going to impregnate her if left any longer.
She may even be pregnant already.
We will endeavour to do all we can to secure the welfare of all the cats concerned to prevent further pregnancies, illness, injury or spread of disease.
