Christmas Countdown.. No Rest for BCWR!
Christmas countdown at Bradford Cat Watch Rescue & Sanctuary
It’s 4 days until Christmas Day and it’s a very busy time for volunteers at the Sanctuary.
Every year we pause adoption enquiries and adoptions early December as we believe that due to the excitement, additional hazards and reduced veterinary provision available, this is the worst time of year to attempt to settle a new animal into your home.
Despite this, our volunteers do not get a break.
We do not close our doors or phone lines and are available 24 hours a day 365 days a week regardless of whether it is Wednesday, Christmas day, a special birthday or any other day. The 4 divisions of our rescue and Sanctuary will be very much active throughout the Christmas period:
❤️🌲❤️Our Critical Care ward is likely to see yet more emergency admissions.
❤️🌲❤️ The Transitional Care Unit will see much movement daily as cats come in and out intensive care.
❤️🌲❤️ Our Foster families will still be nurturing the cats in their care.
❤️🌲❤️ The SENSE Sanctuary will be business as usual caring for the daily needs of our cats with additional needs.
The daily timetable of nappies, mealtimes, cleaning (lots of cleaning), medication rounds and enrichment will continue throughout the festive period.
Our dedicated volunteers are committed to looking after not only the cats in our care but also each other.
Unfortunately at one of the busiest times of the year at the rescue many of our volunteers are unwell at the moment and we are running on reduced volunteer capacity. Please bear with us when awaiting responses to emails, messages and texts.
Finally we want to wish all our friends and supporters a peaceful and safe Christmas time and thankyou for your continued support.
