Golden Paws Showcase!

This weekend @BCWR we want to showcase our ” Golden Paws Cats”
We understand that most people who apply to adopt a cat from us want either a young kitten or young adult.

There is so much to be mutually gained from adopting an older cat.
An older cat usually offers much love, is grateful for love, a warm bed or knee and a bowl full of food.
Here at BCWR we are committed to finding the right home for every cat regardless of age, disability, colour or temperament.

This is Tigger

Tigger is almost 14 years old .
Her owner died leaving her with no home or anyone to look after her.
Her whole world was ripped apart when she was uprooted from the only place she has known as home .
Tigger has been with us now for 19 weeks and has become a loving yet quirky little cat and is certainly one of our “senior kitizens” she still loves to chase a laser pen.
If you would be interested in adopting an older cat please fill this enquiry form in and quote ” Golden Paws”.

This is Pooh Bear

This is Pooh Bear. PB is almost 15 years old .Her owner left him neglected on the streets and he had serious issues with wax in his ears which in turn caused a deformity with his ears.

His ears have had lots of Veterinary Intervention and now we believe they are fixed and fine. Pooh has been with us now for 5 weeks and has become the most loving and sweet boy imaginable and is certainly a lap cat and loves to sleep with you.

This is Smudge

Smudge is 16 years old.
His elderly owner had booked him into the vets to be euthanised as she didn’t want to look after him any more.

Smudge had had thyroid issues for many years and 2 weeks ago we put an end to his thyroid problems as he had a thyroidectomy which means no more daily medicatio and he is much happier and healthier now.

Smudge has been with us now for 15 weeks and is certainly is not the most affectionate cat however will accept love on his own terms. Smudge is deeply unhappy with rescue life and is currently in temporary Foster care with one of our volunteers.

Our dream would be to see Smudge settled into a loving home in his twilight years .
Smudge would not suit a home with any children or other pets.

Smudge is one of our hardest to place cats but we know there will be a special home waiting for him somewhere.
