New Arrival: Sweet William

It wouldn’t be Bank holiday at the Sanctuary without a critical and complex patient to look after.
This is Sweet William.

Sweet William was found at the the side of the road after a witness saw him be brutally run over by a motor vehicle tgat didn’t stop. Rightly so the witness stopped and her only concern was Sweet Williams welfare.

William was rushed to the vet’s where his condition unfolded throughout the day. William is too unwell for general anasthesia but they managed to get a reasonable X-ray of him whilst conscious.

We believe he has at least 2 possibly 3 fractures of the pelvis and a badly fractured femur which is in pieces.

On top of his injuries his kidney function is terrible and values are off the scale. We are currently trying to improve his kidney fuction with intravenous fluid therapy then we can plan to try fix his broken body.

In the meantime Sweet William is being looked after by our critical care team at Bradford Cat Watch Rescue and Sanctuary.

If you are free tomorrow (Sunday) afternoon pop along to our EVERY LIFE MATTERS Event at Bradford Cat Watch Rescue and Sanctuary where yiu can learn how to save a life!!
