Carrie Update

Carrie Update
Carrie arrived with us on Monday barely alive. Since then we have nursed her around the clock and many tests and examinations have been done.
Xrays have told us nothing is obviously broken, blood tests suggested there may be a liver issue.

She has been having seizures of varying degrees, which we have tried to manage, neurological symptoms and poor mentation and she is also blind.
Today Carrie saw an ultrasound imaging specialist veterinary surgeon to examine all her organs and to look for a liver shunt based on the bloods and presentation.
Surprisingly, the organs all looked OK and no evidence of a shunt.

This leaves a big question mark over the cause of her symptoms.

Either her brain was never fully developed at birth or more likely, she has suffered a traumatic brain injury which may be either either temporary or permenant.

For now we are providing supportive intensive care, intravenous fluid therapy and have now started anticonvulsant medication.

Carrie only weighs 800g…. yet has cost us over £800.

Could you donate £1.00 towards Carrie’s continual care.
