Christmas at BCWR

So….. Santa 🎅 has been to BCW and throughout the day we have been helping our cats and kittens open their gifts.
Here is 5 month old Philomena who has overcome immeasurable adversity over the last 4 weeks, opening her Christmas sack.
Being blind, deaf ( and daft) 🤶 has selected her sensory toys that she will love.
Merry Christmas from Philomena.

Itch is delighted to open some of her Christmas gifts. Here you can see her opening her new snuggly blanket.
Itch remains on intravenous fluids and will be continually nursed over the Christmas period.

This is 18 month old Sooty.
Sooty is super excited this Christmas day.

He has received lots of lovely gifts from Santa Paws for being such a brave boy.
In mid November Sooty was involved in a road accident and has suffered a broken jaw, broken nose and Horner’s syndrome.

Whilst as a rescue we are not generally allowed to look after owned pets, however in exceptional circumstances we strive to act with compassion and kindness in partnership with our vets.

Sooty’s co-owner has spent weeks seriously ill in hospital with COVID and his wife could not manage the aftercare and nursing of Sooty as well as the prospect of nursing her husband at home when he was on the road to recovery.

We are really pleased to tell you that Sooty’s owner is now home with his wife and recovering well and in the new year following Sooty’s final surgery on the 5th Jan we hope to reunite the whole family.
