Liberty’s Life Line. URGENT APPEAL

Click here for the latest updates😻

You may all remember the litter of persian kittens that ALL needed major facial surgery a few weeks ago to allow them to breathe a little easier… now, at 6 months old most of the kittens are almost ready for adoption however little Liberty has always struggled and failed to thrive. She is currently the weight of a 14 week old kitten.

More recently Liberty has begun with odd neurological symptoms including partial seizures and sudden collapse.
Last week Liberty has a very specialist scan with a highly trained ultrasonographer to attempt to begin to understand whats going on.
During the scan it was determined that Liberty has a liver shunt.

This is fairly rare in cats and very difficult to treat.
This type of shunt tends to occur in young animals (often a few months old) is called a congenital portosystemic shunt.
😡This is simply due to bad breeding.😡

A portosystemic shunt is an abnormal blood supply which bypasses the liver allowing toxic substances into the general circulation in the body ( basically poisoning herself) and preventing full use of the nutrients in the diet.

Liberty is now booked in for major specialist and risky surgery on TOMORROW and her cost of care is estimated around £1500. Her surgery alone is estimated around £1200.
We only have a fe hours left to raise Libertys Life Line
Whilst this is extremely risky surgery, without trying she wont survive beyond 1 year old.
