Ophelia Update
Ophelia had been with us exactly 15 days following being found in Undercliffe Cemetery.
She was only around 8 weeks old when she was found and has a serious eye condition called micro- opthalmia.. which means she is also blind.
Yesterday Ophelia had major surgery to remove the remnants and debris where her eyes should have been.
With her being so young, coupled with the risks associated with the vagus nerve… which controls many life functions, this was not easy surgery.
Due to the anesthetic risk they and her becoming a little unstable it was decided to bring her round after one eye and she will return to theatre in around 6 weeks to have surgery on the other eye .
Ophelia is recovering well and is quite a cuddle bug.
