Humpty Dumpy Update
Humpty Dumpty took a turn for the worse Tuesday morning and we rushed him up to the vets who looked after him all day. HD didnt have any specific symptoms, just a little dehydrated and mothers instinct that he wasnt quite right. Blood tests didnt show anthing major and all his organs are functioning well.
You may remember HD was born last August very premature with no fur or facial featues.
His skin was like tisse paper and for the first 6 weeks of his life he had no suckle reflex either, so it’s no wonder he is experiencing complications.
We nursed HD throughout the night, monitoring him closely as he was on intravenous fluid therapy.
Humpty Dumpty just had a big wee and some royal canin recovery liquid for supper.
After almost 72 hours of Intensive care, intravenous fluids, nutritional support and of course, lots of extra love little Humpty Dumpty turned a corner and was feeling much better, he has even eaten chicken this evening too.
We started to wean him of fluid support in hope the in the next couple of days HD will be back to his usual cheeky self at Bradford Cat Watch Rescue & Sanctuary
Today, HD is feeling much better. He is eating well and his intravenous fluid therapy has been withdrawn.
He is now in the safe hands of Dr. Moped at Bradford Cat Watch Rescue & Sanctuary as he continues his recovery.
